As some of you may be aware there are 2 tournaments coming up, which students are able to participate in.

The first is the GTUK British Championships in Stratford-Upon-Avon on 24th April 2010.  This tournament is open to all students and is always a well attended event.  Full details will be posted here over the coming weeks or speak to your Instructor.

The second is Scottish Championships in Edinburgh.  In a change to the normal Scottish Championships this year the tournament is going to be an International tournament with countries from all over the world attending.  As such this is going to be a 2 day event, taking place on Saturday 15th May and Sunday 16th May 2010.  Even if you do not wish to compete this is a chance you should not miss out on, an International Tournament hosted by our own Association with a chance to see some of the best in the world compete.  Again full details will be posted here over the coming weeks or you can speak to your Instructor.

We need to register for both of these tournaments in advance.  As such over the next couple of weeks we will be taking details of all students who wish to participate.  All registrations need to be with your Instructor by Thursday 8th April 2010.  Any students who haven't registered with their Instructor by this time will not be allowed to compete.  All adults who wish to participate in the sparring events at these tournaments need to be weighed by their Instructor.  Miss Heywood will be in charge of registrations for Stockport and Didsbury and Mr Lavin will be in charge of registrations for Tameside.  Any Tameside students who only train on a Saturday can register with Miss Heywood on a Saturday.
