What happened to the newsflash?
You might have noticed that the newsflash is still "flashing" news stories from ages ago! Talk about old news! Im going to fix this soon, so bare with me. In the mean time if anyone knows how to solve this problem using Sine wave (hwaldung pahdo), or Jirugi, Im all ears (gwi)

On Saturday 23rd October 2010 several students from Kickstart Taekwondo travelled to Coventry to take part in the annual GTUK Regional Championships. After a bright and early start for the journey we all arrived at Sports Connexion excited to see what the new venue would have to offer. The tournament started slightly earlier than usual and as it got underway it soon became apparent that the usual high standards had been maintained. It was also nice to see all the different clubs in their Club Team Doboks as the Regional Championships is the only tournament where these can be worn. First medals of the day for Kickstart went to Katie Lavin who got a Bronze for her pattern and a Silver in the sparring competition. Mr James Lavin II also did well in his half of the Black Belt Competition and was through to the semi finals in the afternoon. In the afternoon we had 2 adult colour belts competing and Andy Devine deserves a special mention for taking part in his first tournament and gaining value experience. Simon Ingram came away with a Bronze medal for sparring in what will be his last colour belt tournament as he is due to take his Black Belt Grading next month. In the Black Belt Competition Mr Lavin earned a Silver in the patterns competition, his first patterns medal since becoming a Black Belt and also won Silver in the sparring competition after having to withdraw in the final match due to a cut to his eye. Mr Dylan Humphreys II was a surprise late addition to the heavyweight male sparring division and came away with a Silver medal also. I would like to congratulate all our competitors for taking part and also our Supporters who came down to cheer us on. It’s always nice to have friendly faces by the sidelines supporting you when you are competing. There will be some pictures posted on the website shortly. |
